Had a little help roof raking today. Oliver! saw me standing on the snow bank raking the second story roof and decided it looked like fun, must have given him a good vantage point to see over the frickin banks.

Looks like he's focused. I think dogs secretly want to be birds... they love getting up as high as possible to survey the land.

That's interesting, no treats from your hands, how do you do training? Most training techniques are based on food reward.

My dogs gets their afternoon meal "dressed up" with any leftovers hanging around in the fridge. They are definitely interested in our food, but I don't allow it to be overbearing or annoying. They all love carrots, I usually have a bag of carrots nearby while I'm cooking and give them a few.

Hehehe... until I can get Giz to stop shreekin' when she's running around outside... guess I won't get too deep on training...  As far as "come", "stay", "down", "leave it"... did that with praise, a training collar and a long rope.

My dogs are chow hounds. They will eat anything. We give them people food. But only after we have eaten, and only good food we know is not toxic or cast offs. Like a left over hamburger, some steak etc. never the fat. They love broccoli, potato, carrots and beans. They will eat fish, but only after they decide that is the only thing left. The cats, all six of them, won't touch people food. I had a cat that loved chicken and ham, but none of theses. We have a lot of treats for both the dogs and cats. I am careful what and how much they get. No imported foods, no junk.

Our dogs love fruit and some veggies. Pineapple, bananas, apples, cherries, plums, strawberries etc. Shadow will eat carrots and peas. None of the dogs will eat mushrooms which is great as we spend a lot of time in the bush.

Gotta love those zapper collars. My Molly won't go near the line if the beeper is working. I don't find time out working except to keep her contained until I put the working collar on her.

She'll run along the front of the property at buses, big trucks and 4 wheelers stinny? But she was almost on the road when that sucker flew by.
The driver seen her and slowed down fast but she woulda been squished if it was any closer.:heidi: Everything is fine and back in order as I had to drag her out to the line when the brand new batteries were put in....;)

Some people don't believe in the electric tricks but that's too bad as I don't believe in a crushed dog.
