Welcome to the forum Jred85. Good working with Sean and you got some very nice ash there. Still, it looks strange seeing someone with sleeves up! It's been a long time since we could do that but hopefully in a couple more weeks we'll all be toasty again.
It was a good time! We dropped and bucked a few dead ash. Ended up with a truck load of rounds, almost got the truck stuck in the deep snow.
Dennis I started out with a carhart jacket but with the sun and moving rounds it was too warm for a coat.
Great shots of the day in the field. Cool pic at the end with the saws sitting just on the tailgate. Unless we have a clearing around here we still have 3' of snow everywhere. Took the dogs for a walk at the local park today and the poor guys struggled in the deep snow, had to turn around.
Were planning on going back again soon and getting a lot more. Lots of tops there that have been down for two years. We need to get Jred85 set for next winter.
Plan on hitting heavy next week. I'm gonna borrow a dump trailer and take the UTV. Will pull logs out with it and cut them up then fill the trailer.
Yeah, we have a big storm headed our way early this week. Well, that's what they say today. I love my carhart jacket. When it was new, it chafed my neck, but its well broken in now. I was cutting in our woods yesterday. It was mid teens for temperature, and a slight maybe 10mph breeze. I was fine with the carhart, and a long sleeve 5 shirt, and a polar fleece vest for top layer. Cutting wood is a great calorie burner.
Supposed to warm up a bit so hoping it holds out for us to get in there next week. With the UTV and winch we should be able to get wood out to the road where I will leave the truck and trailer.
Funny. Yesterday they forecast 4" of snow along with the sleet, freezing rain and then rain. This morning they dropped it to 3" and this noon they dropped it to 2". I'm hoping tonight they say 1" and tomorrow the storm will do as most do. That is, to south of us.
