O my. Good luck. I've tried to find one of them before. Lol. I'll rattle can it red and black for ya. Lol
I traded a 198? Yamaha 3 wheeler for this one. Just did a full rebuild on it. Good luck finding one they are great running saws.
Try here http://www.firstgeartrucks.com/jonsered-chainsaws-turbo/ but I could sell you a near new Masterminded 2172 for less than that price
Depends who you ask.. Some say the early models ran better. Some say the Xtorq/Strato saws run better.
I've heard that the x-torq pulls a long bar better, and has more torque. I've also heard that they use less fuel than the non-Strato saws. As far as porting goes, the Strato can be gutted, and the x-torq carb is supposed to be better, too. I read a thread on AS where Stumpy built two x-torqs and the one with the Strato gutted was a stronger saw... http://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/project-stumpbroke-71cc-sweedish-stratos.216078/ If you had a ported 2171 vs. a ported 2172 (strato gutted) from the same builder, I don't have any idea which one would be stronger, but I bet they'd be pretty close. The other option is to just swap an OE top end onto a brand new 2172...
Well Dex and I should be able to find out at the spring GTG if I still have it then. I need to get out and break it in though lol
Just heard from these guys and the 2171s are all gone. They do have 2172s and they are less expensive.
