550 starts fine on high idle after a few minutes of setting. 555 started just lIke any other saw when warm. 562 hesitation issues suck. The zama carbs aren't coming out very good.

I have a 562 and after 10 hours of use on it I could not get it to start. Brought it in to have it looked at and the first this that he noticed is that sawdust was getting passed the filter. I treat this saw no different than any other saw that I have had in the last 30 years. He put a new carb and coil on and it worked great for about 5 hours and after that if I let off the throttle it quits. I can start it with 1 pull but it doesn't act like a normal chainsaw. If it didn't have the hesitation problem and the air filter problem it would be a great firewood saw. I guess what I am just trying to say is that I watch the filter way more than I ever did than with my older saws but never never had a issue with the sawdust getting passed the filter. Mdavlee has it right the hesitation issue sucks. I bet there is a lot of 562's out there that do this.

Sam S, I hear ya :hair:

My latest 562 is now starting the "die off idle, right after making bucking cuts". Did it a good 10 times 2 days ago. It idles great but the second you hit the throttle it will die. Sometimes it can be saved by "feathering" the throttle.

My buddy got back from the saw shop yesterday. He said 3 more 562's came in over the weekend blown up. He has one that cannot be made to run and he is going to dump it. Looks great, just won't run. It will for a short time after a re flash which has been done twice and new coil and carb too. Pretty much all have had a lot of debris past the filter.o_O One blown up one had 13 hours on it.

I love the auto tune 555 that I have. I have not run the 545 but I have the 445 and I am not impressed with it. I hope the 545 does WAY better.

And like Dex said I think you can do better than that price that seems kind of high for a saw that size. Maybe they have a red version that would save you even more money.

After looking at some of the comments here and the Husqvarna website, I'm going for the 555. I like that it has more power than the 545.
Thanks to all who steered me away from the 562. I don't need the kind of headaches you've been describing! :hair:

I really like the 555 that my work bought me. Its a strong saw. You will have no problem cutting firewood with that thing. Mine has an 18" bar full 3/8" chain and has no problems pulling the bar burried fully. Granted its not 372 but its a torquey workhorse.

I'm curious as to why the 555 doesn't have the issues of the 562.

Me too....nor do any other Huskys? I've never heard of the problem with 545, 550, 555, 543? Different smaller carburetors perhaps?

I find the 2252 (545) has slight hesitation and not the easiest to warm restart.

Sunfish & Evanrude previously posted about a screw to tweak to fix this. I haven't tried yet.

The issues are minor, and nothing like the "dreaded" hesitation. It still seems like Stihl has a leg up on Husqvarna with the new fangled stuff.

cnice_37 Yes, the screw is a low side adjustment. I haven't messed with it on my 2253 yet. Apparently, a little tweak of that screw and it should fix the hesitation of idle. I haven't been able to test it yet. Haven't even been out to cut wood since that conversation. It's been too cold and too much snow on the ground for me.

I picked up the 555 this afternoon. I'm reading the manual tonight and plan to take her for a spin this weekend with a buddy of mine who has a bunch of dead and down trees on his property. :saw: We'll see what we can get to wading through the snow!

This site helped me choose my stoves and now my first new saw purchase too. Thanks for all the advice on this post guys. It helped me make my decision, and I'm feeling good it will turn out to be a good one.

"G" models are blue, regular ones are black.
