I think February is putting a whooping on most of our stacks. Luckily I have more than enough, but that's what being a hoarder is all about!
yep, i'll be cuttin more than i thought i would to be ready for next year, still have plenty left for this season...........
Not fun to dip into next year's wood, but as mentioned above, much worse to have no dry wood to dip into! Keep burnin! Cheers!
Down to the last 8 ft row in the shed.it's about 5.5 to 6 ft tall. My plan is to burn some more standing dead next year and save the 6 or so cords already c/s/s for the following year, but if I gotta burn some I've burned worse.
First year burning here.. Just ran out of what I had anticipated burning this year. It was just over 2.5 cords. Dipped into next year to finish out... It's all good though, gives me a reason to c/s/s more firewood!
Started my stack of Spring uglies the other day. It is stacked away from and perpendicular to my main stacks. I had not bothered to shovel the area out, and found shoveling where the snowplow and backhoe had packed the snowdrift tough going, so climbed over and just dug out the stack. Climbing back over with a stack of wood, stepped in my original footstep, of course now angled the wrong way, and twisted my knee, the one I injured two years ago slipping down the cliff (after about fifteen feet grabbed onto a tree to stop myself and twisted the knee...my sister, ahead of me, just ran headlong down when she started to slip and was fine). Anyway, lesson learned the hard way. Needless to say, there is now a cleared path. Should have had at it with sturdier equipment than the backsaver snowshovel in the first place.
