Have any saws you'd truly never sell/trade?

I don't think it will last as long as a stock saw. Hope you have other ones that aren't ported :seasoned:

The Mac Eager Beaver. It's my dad's so it's staying with me.

For practical reasons, at least for now, 200t, 024s, 036 Pro, 440, and Olympyk 999f(sawmill saw). I've loaned the 200t to my dad several times so it's a keeper too.

Nothing I have, with the exception of wife and family, that can't be bought. Never have let sentiment get in the way of common sense.

The Husqvarna 550XP and the Stihl 290 Farm Boss can go at any given time. I am thankful for the heat they provided for me and the time in the woods with them but they are just a tool to me.
The Stihl 460 Magnum is dads saw and he can't lug it around anymore so it is in my stable now. Dad had several old Stihls while I was growing up but the 460 is the first big saw that he trained me on. It belongs in the family. One day that saw will be in one of the boys garage because I can't lug it around anymore.

I've got a couple that would be really hard for me to part with...

The rest are up for grabs... for the right price!

I probably won't sell my ms390. Was my first saw, first new saw as well. I bought it and my wife who was my girlfriend then gave me some of the money toward it.

It has cut posts of wood for me as my main saw for years including when we were first married and had nothing and no money and it cut wood to help me heat the trailer that first winter of marriage.

It has cut lots of wood with and for my now deceased grandmother and lots for my aunt.
It was the first saw I disassembled. And it has kind of been semi retired.

I am toying with the idea of sending it to adirondacstihl and letting him build it like he did to chatty avatars ms290. That saw would run:eek:o_O

Better late than never missed this thread somehow. Anyways, some really good stories with history of your keepers here. What I would give to have the two old Homelite saws my Dad owned when I was a kid, I think they were borrowed and never returned (Dad was the type that would give the shirt off his back…) and he probably never asked for their return. I have some really neat stuff of his but the saws would be a real " treasure" with my wood heat and hoarding habits now.

Like many of you, I have a saw that was my fathers- a 1979 McCulloch 850. That saw will not be sold or given away. If it ever stops running, I'll have it bronzed!

All my saws will be staying put. I've weeded out the ones I didn't care for. I've also sold a couple that should have stayed. But when you need quick cash you gotta do it sometimes. A few of my saws have sentimental value. The others just can't be replaced for what I have in them. Plus you can never have too many saws!

I absolutely MUST now add my 661r to the "never going anywhere" pile. This saw has grown on me more so than any other saw yet. Its on its 7th or 8th tank and still getting stronger !!!

Who knows, maybe my 066 will be the next one added to the pile .....................................
