So, I just got a 361 together that I was working on. Then mounted a new bar/chain on the other. I pulled the 441 off the shelf to try to determine it's fate. Then I grabbed the hybrid to compare it side by side to the 441. Randy sent me a sticker for my 260 because I never got one, so then I got that saw out to put the sticker on. I walked over to the stove to throw some oak in and came back and seen this. Thought I'd take a pic. Pretty bad when you realize how many saws you actually have, this isn't even half. It's no wonder people think I'm crazy...
That ship looks immaculate compared to mine. I can barely enter and walk around my shop. That's a nice group of saws my friend. I have around 10 saws that need attention (crank seals, carb overhauls, oilers, etc.) But money or time (or space to work on them thanks to my easy shop). Hoping to get a break from this weather so I can get some tree jobs that I had to reschedule and also a good weekend to clean out my shop!
I'll get my work space cleaned up tonight and get a good pic of it. Do we have a 'show us your bench' thread on here?
I think there may have been one at one time, look for it in the search box. *edit* just looked and I can't find one soooo, Evan maybe you can start up a "show us your workbench thread"....
nice, but have you ever actually used them?? look like my saws, then again I burn pellets. Also reminds me of my aircraft tools, clean and organized, OCD.
I know just the person to help with that. A couple of days ago some chips got stuck in the latch for my Subaru's rear hatch, which kept the hatch a bit open and the dome light on overnight, and made the battery very, very dead. While I had the jumper cables strung from my wife's car to mine, waiting for it to charge in about -5F, a middle-aged woman I hadn't met pulled up alongside and said she had a power inverter that would deliver the necessary current right away. "I'm from the midwest," she explained as she hooked it up. "If you ever need any equipment, I'm at..." She gave me the number of a house just down the block. Hoping to somehow return the favor I offered my services in case she had some small engine that needed work. She looked confused, so I bashfully explained that I had a hobby working on chainsaws. "Oh, well," she replied, "I have about six." She paused for a breath, raised her hand and inclined her head to look over her snow-speckled glasses at me. "Now I buy Stihl's, and they tend to run, but I'd love a lesson sometime." All I had was a first name and house number, but that was enough to find a last name and learn more about her. She's a clinical psychologist.
That little 260 I've had since 2007. I've ran the hell out of that saw. I just like to keep em clean. Nothing too OCD, just an air hose after use. When I get bored, I'll pull the recoil and cylinder covers off em and blow them out good. Two of those bars in the pic are brand new, the other has little use. I do have a couple worn bars, too . Surely, I don't get to use them as much as I would like to.
