Hubby has some expensive tastes too, but I will gladly agree the good footwear, tires, and other frequently used items he buys perform better and last longer than stuff I have bought in the past. No doubt you use that router constantly :)

A special thanks to HDRock and Grizzly Adam for your advice and suggestions! I pulled the trigger on the $46 one. ($10 coupon expires today). It may be overkill but if the stars align right and I can get better internet than satellite one day we will be ready :)

Looks pretty good for that price , and
Unlike certain other inexpensive dual-band routers, the WDR3600 can operate on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz at the same time, so you can have older 2.4GHz Wi-Fi devices connected to the internet at the same time as newer 5GHz products.

Tried to install it today without success. Will try again in the morning. In retrospect I have always had another computer to google help for lol. It's possible we could get snowed in the weekend so it might not happen until I can find undivided attention

And, right on time, my old router showed up   Darn, too bad I had to buy a new one, I had looked hard enough for it though recently I figured it was buried deep in a moving box.
