You may be able to get away with the cap you have. The T will add a couple of inches of horizontal and you already said you were at the required 12" plus you would need an elbow. Maybe wait and see what it looks like??

Jetcaps tend to lessen any problems from the wind.I think I will have to get one before next winter.

Is there a reason you can't use the horizontal cap vertically?

You would probably get some rain in there if the wind was blowing the wrong direction.

lemme beat this dead horse a bit.......your install in the original picture appears to be 3" pipe, and your EVL would be somewhere around 16' or so...basically the upper limit of 3" pipe.....and you used Duravent (ugh). Not sure I agree with putting an increaser from 3-4" on, another tee, another 90, etc....youre still using primarily 3" pipe. To do it right, you'd use 4" from the stove to the exterior, use as few connections as possible (they do make longer pipe than 1'ers), and get that outlet off the ground! Generally the minimum is 18"....it doesn't appear you have that. ICC pipe.

Thanks, on wishlist for this summer. Is there such thing as a cap that is an upside down u shape (horseshoe shape). If so are those good for wind too?

Add about 2 feet to that pipe and that will help 98% of your problem. We all like the look of that type of install but we forget there is soot coming out and any breeze will swirl it up and around so it will discolor your wall as yours has done. Usually I will use high temp tape outside so I can remove pipe and end cap. You might be able to heat that joint with a butane torch and soften the high temp caulk so you can twist that cap off.

try a 90degree elbow pointed down. Cheaper then the endcap and works just as well. Just remember to cover it in the summer so bigs and birds can't build nests in it. Then leave a note in the hopper and unplug the stove so you remember in the fall.

I am running 4" duravent multifuel vent from the stove. I don't have any leaks using the 1fters that came in the kit. I did order the 36" run for outside.

    I have a 4" vent I can send you.

I forgot you had Duravent. I thought you had standard Selkirk 4"

PM your addy... I will get this cap out to you. It will help a lot. You still need to come out and up, but this one has a rodent screen and is better overall.

Thanks again Dex, finally got around to messing with it. Do you think I need the 90 at the top?
How do I make sure the EVL is still ok?

With your 90° and the exhaust turned at a 45°, you should be good to go.

What is your vent set up from the stove out?

Not counting the vent at 45°, You have 11' of EVL outside. So if you have two 90°'s inside and a 4' vertical section, and 2' of horizontal inside (gowing outside/guessing), then you have 24' EVL.

Check out page2, for some reason I can't save the pic and repost it here for you. Off the stove is a
    12" horizontal, to a T, then a 4ft vertical, a 90 elbow exiting with a 12" horizontal.
    Outside is a:
    T, 3ft vertical, 90 elbow, vent at 45?

    All 4" Duravent multifuel

Do you guys seal all the connections outside?
For now I just assembled them, even if the seams leaked would that create any issues?

Well realistically nothing needs to have xtra sealing, but we know how that goes.Outside,no,unless it was a tall vertical run.Dex nailed your evl,but i do not know what the specs are for your furnace, dex is the man to answer.
