    Smoke, we Mainers are known for "Not being right". That is why we are oftener referred to as "Maine niacs". We call everyone else, "from away", and having no clue what in heck is going on. It can take several generation to become a true Mainer. My dad's family settled here when the territory belonged to the king of England. I'm living within 20 miles of that first family setteler.

    Just gave the stove a quick clean ,only a week since the last one ,take advantage of the warmer temps here before the bottom drops out again later this week.

    Thems from away that come here seem to think they can change everything to be exactly like it was back where they came from, they forget that they came here to get away from what it was like back where they came from.

    Oh yes, so true. A couple of my kids briefly lived in the south while they were in the service. But they all came back. All four now live within 10 miles of each other and me. Its home for them. Schools still have that rual town mentality.
    I hate it when those from away come here, get involved and think that the town or school has to have this and that, then they meet and come up with plans to force someone else to pay for their ideas. Only thing is Maine has the oldest population in the country. Most on fixed incomes.
