Ya, I know - no pics or it didn't happen. Well, I have to admit that this is a milder winter than usual so I do have pics to prove it. I went out and had a look and the rhubarb is starting to show. This pot has tulip bulbs I planted the first week in January. The miniature roses shot up sports last summer and now are starting to leaf. Found a crocus blooming in my disaster of a garden - another retirement project. And here is another pot with bulbs in it. I have daffodils with buds on them and if I can figure out how to upload from my phone, I have pics of rhododendrons blooming and primroses.
Cool posts!!! My wife and I visited Vancouver and Vancouver Island in late March several years ago. I was amazing how the ocean moderates the temperatures and how "green" things were so early in the Spring. At the same time, we got pelted with hail/freezing rain in Bamfield and then had 60-70*F weather in Bamfield and Tofino in the same week. This is still our favorite vacation of all time.
Not fair is right. The rest of the northern US is buried in white, some places buried is an understatement.
yeah, I have tulips starting to come up in our garden, weather is way to warm for Feb. Was 55 the other day when i woke up to go to work at 5AM,I have not lit the stove all week,though i may light it tonight as it is suppose to get down to the mid 40's. been getting alot of rain this week as well (massive down pours) followed by steady heavy showers
Our winter is a result of the "pineapple express" coming up along the California coast. That is why Elderthewelder is getting similar weather. The link below shows what happens when the arctic front meets the "pineapple express". these towns are about 400 miles direct north of us. Kitimat is on the water at the end of a long inlet going up into the interior of BC.
