    Not gonna use smokes "bird" but can relate,back in 70's drove 28 miles to DC border for work,if snowed 1/2" took 1.5 hrs to get there because of stupid people!!!!

    PelletHound, there are others like this on the market. One thing I'd recommend is to let the bottom edge of the "canvass" hang freely. Then, the blocks of snow simply fall straight down off the roof.....no need to swat them aside.

    This is the best one I've seen.....uses a plastic that's probably polypropylene (very slippery....like in water "slip n slides"). Note how the snow blocks simply fall straight down. Only thing it needs are small wheels so the shingles don't get caught, but as you can see, it's very fast:
