And we are off! That should get me through the night with enough hot coals in the morning at 5am to take back off.

That's kindling for my Buck 2700! If I want coal in the morning (8 hour burn) I need to have good hardwood rounds incorporated in there too. I`d love to be able to get your results with that wood in mine. I thought about a newer stove but we are adding on to the house this spring and I already bought an Energy king furnace for the basement.

Nice bed of coals. How far north in the land of cheese are you?

I am in grant county. East of madison 60 miles so quite a bit south. I did stick a few peices in after work. I can get a good 10-11 hour burn time easy and still have 68-70 degrees in the house when I get home and am able to stir coals and fire it off again without a problem. 1176 sq foot ranch with the stove in the basement. I have had good results with this stove, it is a work horse. Probably going to burn right around 3 cords this winter.

That is part of my back yard. The stack to the far left is on a 4 ft pallet about 5 foot high so I still have plenty of wood to season for the next year or two. Mostly oak, locust, and elm left there with about a half cord of walnut.
