Since it was below zero this morning, and I've got the time for it, I decided to run the eldorado and warm up the basement some. 59f yesterday and currently 75f; after about 6 hours or running with no blower turned on.
I am using willow for the fuel, I'll save the hardwood (maple-ash-yellow birch) for the more serious -0 temps.
Still think i may sell the stove this spring/fall and get another englander, though.

The upstairs and 1st floor is served by a forced air system. Nat gas which of course is served by the OWB (shudder). We will use the gas in Sep early Oct before we start the OWB and again once it is shut down in the spring. I also have two grilles cut into the R/A plenum (pre-filter) to help pull air from the basement and keep it more tempered even when the wood stove is not lit. Open stairwells on each level; basement 1st floor 2nd floor.
