My boiler uses a flu thermostat to determine when the wood is all gone. You have to set it to the start up position and come back later to set it to whatever temperature you want once it is warmed up. If you don't it will keep pumping water through a cold boiler instead of the hot tanks. I forgot once and remembered a couple of times just as I was falling asleep forcing a reluctant trip to the basement. I added this adjustable timer. Now you just hit the start button and it will hold the boiler in start up for the preset time and once the timer runs out it gives back control to the flu thermostat. No more return trips to the basement until it is time for another firing.
Well done! That space that your controller is mounted on is also for a fancy optional controller supplied by Atmos. There is also a mechanical controller for about 50 bucks that installs right on the flue gas dial. /// I now light mine from the top down & its a lot more controllable this way.
that has to be so much easier. mine has i timer whereby the flu t-stat takes over after 30 minutes of the fan running.
