A little face lift for the Husq 51 bar

Got a little inspired by a recent post of a bar strip and re-finish by RParrotte. For giggles, decided to take a Total Super Bar that I nabbed off a Jred 49sp that I picked up last week and try a face lift. Didn't get the quality shown by RParrotte, but I think it looks pretty good on the saw. Just used sand paper at different grits on the orbital sander to get a descent finish on the bar, then painted the nose (PITA to cover the rivets - but wanted to see how it looked). Well, I'm bored at home on a frigid day - if you are bored, her's 1 minute of time to waste! Ha!

That looks awsome I might do that to my stihl 20 inch bar.

 

Thanks prell - took very little time, except to cover the rivets with tape and cut out the circles - that was tedious, but it think it came out better than solid black. Cheers!

 

U did a hell of a job I like it once I get healed up I will do it. It looks better than stock I think.

Here's a Stihl bar I sanded and clearcoated. I think it looks much better than it did before...

 

Looks good - I'm liking the plain, non-painted/decal looks these saw have - and that's a real nice lookin' saw right there! Cheers!

Ha - she tries to look tough till I set her next to my 372 - then she starts to drip oil......ha! Thanks though - I do like the flat metal bar on the saw. Cheers!
