Were feelin like a couple of lucky bastages too We've got a pretty efficient system running now that makes everything easier. Snow rules are in effect now though, nothing gets left in the landing and we try not to leave any trees down where we are cutting. Its a lot easier to drop the trees when you need them, skid em when you can still see them and sweep the landing clear with them before you block and load them. Too many things can go wrong with wood hiding in the snow.
Given Zap's weather forecast, I figured I better get it unloaded this morning. Looks like the splitter will be eating well this weekend.
Looks like everything here is going to soften up slightly, get a good dose of freezing rain, then freeze rock solid with up to a foot of snow on top
You can trust his forecast more than most weather stations. Fill that splitters belly, enjoy the fun!
We'll have our own soon enough, won't we? S&W, you've got quite a bit of snow for this time of year. Ice..........
This isnt that uncommon for us and not uncommon at all for 30 miles north of the city...all depends on how it comes off the lake.
Gotcha. I know the northeast side near Lake Michigan gets a lot of lake effect snow, but it peters out for the most part before it gets this far.
Dave, we also had ice this morning. Good thing my wife went outdoors before me. She stopped me cold or I'd have just started down the steps. Wow! They were super slippery. Naturally schools closed but it got to 33 today so the roadways cleared up pretty well. Of course all those numerous tons of salt they wasted this morning got rid of lots of that ice too.
