Green flat centipeed looking things

What are they? They are under the bark on some of my trees I have been splitting. I`ll try to get pics next time.

If so they are common centipedes that have borrowed under the bark for the winter. If you have a lot of them there may be a ground nest near where your stacks are that you disturbed. They found a new home in your wood.

Kinda sorta but the ones I see mostly are a bright green and really flat

Somehow I made it almost 30 years without ever seeing one of those. I remember the first time, I had just bought my current house, and was sitting on the throne when this long hairy thing darted from under the sink and ran out in the hallway. It was almost too fast to get a good look at! I killed about 5 in the first month and haven't seen any more in the 3 years since.

I'm curious to see what crzy has.

 

Just a wild guess, but maybe if they are young and have not been exposed to light yet, they make be lighter color????
