These pictures I have posted before on another site. This was a fun day in spite of the weather and the occasion was a small town Graduation fundraiser and the Kids really pitched in. Dangle Head Processor to do the bucking! Took this one just for Backwoods Savage. Nothing like getting out of the rain! More splitters. Hydraulic & manual splitter in action! Biggest splitter at the cut - nothing but power! The wood is Alder. Woodwidow is a secretary at their high school and said that these were really good bunch of kids!
The dryland sort belongs to Western Forest Products who also donated the logs. Most of the wood is Alder which is almost considered a weed in this neck of the woods. The grads sold pickup loads for $55.00 per pickup load. The money which was used to pay for a lot of their after grad celebrations. Western Forest Products provides logs at different times to about five different charity cuts, including The Legion, Figure Skating Club, Hockey Teams, and the Baptist Church. This is the Baptist Church wood cut. They provide the firewood free of charge to the elderly and those who no longer can get their own firewood. . Another home built! This being a baptist wood cut, I guess you could call it this machine's baptism!
Port McNeill, BC - a small town of about 2,000 on Northern Vancouver Island. If you go to Goggle Earth, the 2 log sorts are just to the left of town.
Charity Wood cuts - A great time to share & meet folks while helping others! My hat's off to those who organize the cuts!
