Any tips for making a clean bucking cut through a big log?

I'm not near a desktop to do any fancy photo editing like that. Thanks.

That's what you call cutting over, a good way to do it with shorter bars, but not easy if you have a big gut. Lol.
If it were my tree, I'd make a cut on the dangerous side first.

The op may also want to turn up oiler to max as dry chain in a big cut makes for wander.

Thanks, nice site! It's funny how I found out about it. We were guessing what FHC meant. I thought it meant Fetching Husqvarna's Constantly until someone set me straight. Lol.

So I made about a dozen more full size bucking cuts today and they nearly all matched up cleanly by starting over the top as recommended and being mindful to not twist the saw.

I'll take a loaner saw, if that's what you're getting at

I'm kidding - the 28" is working fine and I can't justify a bigger bar or saw to drive it.
