Any of my patriot friends watching this mini series? The first ep was pretty good!

 

My wife DVRd it.. For obvious reasons we like anything from the period.


I'm currently reading a history of the war "Patriot Battles" as well.

 

History.

 

Pretty cool watched last nite

 

We are a day behind, watching on their website via air play.

 

I've heard from a friend that it leans more towards fiction than anything else. Do you agree?

I watched it last night.... fun but definitely over dramatized... portraying John Hancock and Sam Adams as underground smuggling ring gang leaders.

 

I agree with ya but still very interesting show.

 

waiting for it to be on demand so I can binge watch.

 

OK I'm forcing myself to watch... History wise its gone from bad to worse. Its like the producers never read a 3rd grade history text.

History channel doesn't even deserve the name anymore.

 

And even worse... The have the battle of Lexington starting out in an empty hayfield at midday... Rather than on Lexington green at 4am as it should be.

The colonial "troops" are portrayed as an outlaw band rather than the existing militia they where, and they completely leave out Hancock and Adams both held political office in the colonies before the time of the continental congress. The portrayal of Sam Adams particularly is laughably wrong...

Its a shame that the true story is not good enough for TV....
