but I'm not going to tell Dennis cause he might get the idea that I liked it. lol
Bigger wet red oak rounds just a little too heavy so I took the splitter with me today and went vertical on them. I will split them down to stack size off the truck horizontal though, the normal way :D:dancer:

Nice! But with just that little bit of snow on only the driveway, I'm thinking you guys have some sort of selective snowfalls there or what?

Nice job. Is that a home made log cradle on your splitter? If so, nice!

lol For some strange reason Ice held on certain surfaces ( gravel here ) and melted with the snow else ware ??? Now that I look at it, it does look rather odd.

Once you get used to ~300" every year, snow anywhere else just doesn't seem to be worth the bother...

Yes Sir it is, I actually added on to the small one that was on there with aluminum bar stock, lumber, bolts, deck screws and such. works pretty good, much better than the stock thing they call a cradle.

Dennis knows better. It's a tough recruit from horizontal to vertical.

I must've missed the picture.. I don't see anyone doing any vertical splitting in this thread.... Time to go to the optometrist to get some glasses I suppose.. Backwoods Savage is never going to believe it if you don't show him pictures.... Cause it never happened..:p

No, I'm thinking once you try it a couple times you too will always be splitting it the right way!

That's okay, I'm an easy sell.

I have been pretty busy and haven't had time to snoop and learn a thing or 2 on here but is it true that guy that sits on a red milkcrate STILL hasn't read his owners manual on how normal people split wood? :BrianK:

Not so wishlist. It is just that some of us do things the natural way and therefore save ourselves a lot of work! I still have another milk crate I can loan you any time!
