This past fall I had some wood given to me. Tree service took it down two falls ago and left it in 4'-6' lengths at a friends house. I took it home and piled it up in the back. Today I got around to finishing it up. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Feels good doesn't it!.? Looks like you have a fair mount of wood too!

Did it make its way down in your basement already?

Everything I cut and split today was thrown in and stacked in the basement. There's 11 face stacked in the pile straight in front of the four wheeler and I'm guessing 3-4 in the pile off to the side from a tree I cut down in the back yard.

Doesn't look like anyone's getting out that doorway in a hurry.

Hopefully any mice can still run out.

That ATV wood wagon is awesome.

It's all stacked and opened up. Come on in/out! Then again it doesn't matter, there's no stairs in the hatchway anyway!

I have several traps set, not too many make it out alive! Thanks, it was originally just frame with a wood deck and sideboards. I'm a welder at a structural steel shop and we have a steel service center. I bent up a piece of expanded metal one day to make a new box. It's now 8" longer and 10" taller. I also stretched the tongue 22". I think it was originally for a lawn tractor. Now I just need some new wheels and tires. The hubs are shot on the wheels and the tires are dry rotted. I need to air up the tires every time I use it.

You have good drying conditions in the basement vs traditional drying outside?

At this time of year yes, but that wood has been cut in 4-6' lengths for two years. So I'm not too concerned. I took a reading with the MM on a few pieces and it was 14-21%. My basement stays about 95* in the winter. I put an oscillating fan on the wood too. This wood is in a separate stack that won't get burned until spring time anyway.

That should be ideal. Lots of work there but it is good work.

Cut and split most of this today. I ran out of gas in the splitter and of course the extra gas I had I dumped in the welder yesterday. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg
