Does anybody have experience with this splitter? This splitter has a 3 second cycle time and would like to know if anyone has experience with it.
A picture or link to the splitter would be nice... Welcome to the club. I'm sure that if it has anything to do with firewood somebody here has played with it and has an opinion.
Ive never used one but I remember reading that these types of splitters are really good on straight grain wood types that split easily. Anything that takes more effort to split then they arent as good as a hydraulic.
I haven't used this one but my buddy has a super-splitter that's just like this And nothing stops it nothing !!!( i think it's the same splitter it's looks the same) He had a load of 20ft logs in his drive way and I was bucking the logs and 2 people were feeding the splitter and 2 were stacking as fast as they could and even with a modded 395xp I could barely keep ahead of them and We were all working as fast as we safely could it was amazing and a lot of fun too I would say if wont spilt it then it will shear it in half and not even grunt
Yes we used two of them at our charity cut in fall 2014. It is a exact copy of the super split with a few improvments. The height is adjustable. The motor is mounted lower which makes it quieter. The two hand operations is easy to bypass. I have some videos on youtube if you want. The factory engineers brought them out for us to try out and even helped split wood. We put them to the test with some nasty wood.
Thanks for your feedback, I just got it out of the crate, it split the wood great, but everything is snow covered, which makes the job a little tougher. Come on spring.
I don't have a Split Second but I have a SuperSplit and a TW-6, you're welcome to come run both side by side. I'm about a 1/2 east of the Delaware. got about 4 cords of oak and ash rounds that need tending...two of us running...well be done by noon.
