I vote you block on the weekend and split after work. Did this in a couple hours to help image.jpg a coworker out. I would think you could get twice as much done with daylight. Jmo

I cut and split at night a lot this time off the year. Just watch the back side of the logs and know where your bar is at. My Spitter has 4 lights on it with one of them attached to the boom that can be pointed in all dirctions IMG_20141105_175052875.jpg IMG_20141105_175028611.jpg IMG_20141105_175107598.jpg

I do it once in a while. I have one of those 250 watt spot lights on the back of my house, and cut and split at night with it on. The only downfall of only having 1 light from one direction is you have to lay out the wood and/or jig in the correct direction to get the light so shadow's don't get in the way. It's definitely a bit slower, but it works. Just pay attention and don't cut corners (aka start cutting in a shadow because you don't want to waste the time or effort to re-arrange a round into the light...). I always make sure there is plenty of light in the cutting zone, and double check that it will be there thru the entire cut.

I have ran saws in the woods by headlamp because I had to finish getting my wood out of the wood I hate leaving with out a full load lol
And I have cut spilt and stacked by work light before
I much rather have daylight thou
If you can shine the light down from above you then it works really good less shadows and blinding

I'd cut with lights if a must, but I think I'd focus on getting as much cutting done during the day as possible and leave your splitting/stacking for night - IMO much safer. Cheers!
