Just snow down here today. Dropped half a dozen standing dead tamarack. Got them stacked up on the landing to skid out later this week.

Nice score you got there Loon! You should get a decent amount of nice wood from them... :)

Better weather than they were predicting for sure. Remember all that talk about being worse than last year?
    I didn't jinx us did I?

    Nice firewood day for ya.
Got too warm here and muddy.

Wanted to get some maple out of the swamp here but despite last week's cold there really wasn't enough ice and then the frozen top got all muddy and messy/slippery.

Geeze Loon, it seems you should have it either rain or snow; not both!

I was cutting today and there are bare patches all over the place after our weekend January thaw. Temperature hung at 30 most of the day.

Now thats my kind of skid'in, I like when the ground is frozen and some snow to help keep the dirt from packing in the bark. We had those conditions here 3 days ago, was all set to drag a couple oaks out of the bottom but the last few days of 40 deg. f. made grease ground again. Them swamps put the most trees down for firewood but the hardest to get it out of.
1/2 a dozen of them elms should keep you busy a little while, good stuff for the T5

The bigger stuff will be going on the pile out back here and anything that can be burnt this year will be going in my buddy's shed across the road.;) The T5 has lots of good stuff for quite awhile Todd. :) and those huge flakes weighed a ton Sav!
