Got out this morning and cut a few trees out back. This is the first one down marked and ready to buck . Here it is going into the trailer. This is the entire tree loaded. This picture shows how far behind the house I am cutting. Now it's time to get them split and stacked after lunch .
You guys with flat to nearly flat ground are soooo fortunate. My ol' Kentucky home is nothing but hillsides. Shoot man, my driveway hits 22% grade. The BX handles the steep trails and lawn but it's tip city to take it where the trees grow. I have to hike in, cut, buck and drag or roll the rounds to a safe pick up point.
Ralphie Boy our land does slope a bit but from the front to the back 3/4 mile it goes from 87' above sea level to 69' above the BX is just great it fits between all the rocks and trees anything bigger would be tough. prell 73 all I cut is dead standing Red Oak and any White Pine that gets blown down during the year. Makes for great fires.

Thanks Drvn4wood we love it, only thing is we have a hard time leaving it for work or any other reason. Jane even retired and started to work part time so she could enjoy it more. Stinny that's a Mingo marker it takes two seconds to mark a tree for cutting. I am kind of anal about my stacks and like my splits all the same size. I stack on 4'x20' pallets and three 16" splits fit just right. Paula it turns out it was a great day for football also GO PATS !!!! Redneckdan we have not had more than a dusting a few times this winter. Hope it stays this way makes for some good cutting frozen ground but dry. RockyFordOak78 we grow them that way up here in the North East some times the polka dots are green some times orange but then there's always the very rare pink polka dot tree.
