My Mom was born in 1940. In the house she grew up in, they didn't have an indoor toilet until she turned 13 years old!! They had the "path" up the hill to the outhouse and "bed pans" for the cold temperature middle of the night time potty breaks!!!

Hey you bunch of Crazy Wood Hoarders, I love the way conversations can freely flow around here from stoves to "other things".
As a Rum drinker I have learned this much thus far........Too much Rum makes ya do dumb things, especially when you’re sitting on a tropical beach somewhere in the hot sun and are half baked to begin with ;)
    Trust me I know....
So far I have been a good boy and life is great here and the wife and I are on a mission to explore as many beaches as possible while were here. Thank God for great children, our youngest daughter bought her first place here in Kona and came back to Montana in the cold Winter Wonderland so mom and pop could get away for some badly needed thawing out in the hot sun and regenerate our brains, we've had a very busy year with our expansion move and relocating to a more populated area to be able to continue to grow.

Back to wood cookstoves and the La Nordica's. We do have the new Americas in stock and as of today have 4 of each color. They are $4k delivered to most places in North America. Canada, Hawaii and Alaska are sometimes additional.
We still don't have them up on our site as we fell behind during the move on updating the site.
Our new web guy is working hard to fix that and I'll have him move this up to the top of the list so it should show up in a day or so on our site. http://woodstoves.net/cookstoves.htm
I will post the specs and the rest of the info below in another post for you.

I have one on the way next month that I will burn and review in a video as I have in the past. I did review the Suprema which is the smaller version of this stove. I believe the two stoves should perform closely.

Hopefully Scotty orders his and can review their new America for us sooner.

So far the only issues we have had with the La Nordica product line has been the flue collars are metric and the inside of the oven door on the Surprema and Mamy is raw cast iron and will rust.
I would imagin the inside of the oven door on the America is the same raw cast iron. I believe that La Nordica should treat the inside of the door so this does not happen and it seems strange to me that in every other detail attention has been paid that makes the La Nordicas an excellent choice for those who are into the good looks of the stove as well as the functionality.
If you spray the door with Spam or some other food grade vegetable oil when its new that should resolve that issue.

As far as the flue collars, hopefully these have the North American standard 6". Otherwise we have custom SS collars that we designed that will allow you to hook up your La Nordica properly.
We provided our customers with the proper adaptor to attach the stove pipe so that the creosote runs back down and into the stove as it should, male end down, female up.
I have some concerns that some La Nordica’s that we did not sell may have the chimneys installed improperly and I want those folks to know what NFPA 211 requirements are so they have a safe installation.
Not all dealers are also chimney professionals and don't have the experience to help the client with this part of the installation.
We provide complete systems, chimney and stoves, because like the vehicle you drive performance is based on the engine under the hood.....so does the stove rely on the chimney to work properly.
You can take the best stove in the world and hook it up to an inferior chimney; you'll have an inferior stove and sometimes an unsafe installation.

We'd rather our firefighter brothers stay warm in the firehouse.........

Back again with some more info and pictures of the America for you guys.
Here are some more pictures so you can see what makes this stove such a great deal.
Many of the features are unique such as the secondary air induction system in the rear cast iron refractory that makes these cookstoves burn cleaner than most.
The burn times we received from the Surprema was also very good, so the America should be excellent as the firebox is more like we are used to here in North America.
With the America you can actually also grill right inside the firebox. That makes this cookstove very unique.

    That stove is awesome.

My wife is house sitting and watching a friend's children while they are away this weekend and they have an Esse Ironheart in their kitchen which we were burning last night. She enjoyed it but when I asked (probably for the dozen-eth time) if she'd ever agree to a wood cook stove in our kitchen, she replied with her usual. "You're NOT taking out my island and putting in another wood stove!"

    :(
