Best quarterback either comes down to Montana or Brady. And if Brady wins another it starts and ends with him.

 

I think everyone here already knows which team I back. One thing that separates Brady from other QB's in my book is the tools he was given early in his career with the Pat's. He didn't have the stellar run game, or even star wide receivers. He has made average receivers look great. Several have gone to other teams only to be flame outs. Branch went to Seattle on a big contract and did nothing. He came back to the Pat's and still looked good. That to me shows just how good of a QB Brady is. Put Manning on that team during those years and I don't see the Pat's winning any of their Super Bowls. Even this year, Brady does not have an outstanding wide receiver. He does have a pretty good run game and one of the best tight ends in the game. Plus a slot receiver that replaced Wes Welker.

It's easy to say a QB is great with tools like Swan, Rice, Harrison etc... Take those receivers away and put in average wide receivers only and tell me how those QB's fair.

Now before you go off the deep end, Montana won with average wide receivers at one point. Which I hold him above the others as a result.

I think Brady over Montana, he has done more with less.

 

New era of QBs just coming into the NFL
May not last 12 - 15 years , like the pocket passers
but the ability for a QB to run well is here to stay.
Young, fast & accurate passer, worth millions $$$$$$$$

Just watched 2 in the college playoff game, money !

 

I don't know if you guys saw it, but Peyton supposedly has been playing with a torn right quad muscle since week 15 vs San Diego. Makes sense to me. He's been off with his throws for about a month. That's why they have been relying on cj Anderson at rb.

 

There have been plenty of QB's like this through the years. However; teams never effectively made changes to their offenses to compliment this style of QB. The reason this style of QB is becoming more prolific in the NFL is that offenses are finally getting it, and making changes to their offensive set to take advantage of this style. Don't forget this all comes down to money, and the NFL makes more money with higher viewership due to flashy QBs.

 

Feel bad for Manning the game does seem too big sometimes for him. OTOH he's never had the defense or Head Coach some of his contemporaries have been blessed with and always had more responsibility on the field than almost any other quarterback of his era. He's been the Offensive Co-coordinator. He has walked off the field with a lead more than once and watched his team give up the winning drive.

 

Peyton Manning will be back with the broncos next year and he will be all healed up, and throwing accurately. His torn quad muscle was a big deal.

 

Doubt it. I think he hangs it up. His HC and DC are gone and the OC might be jumping ship.

 

Yeah, I know his coaches are going, but it appears elway still wants him.

 

Bring Payton in for the second 1/2
Start a young running, fairly good passing QB the first 1/2.
Tire out the defense &
mess with the defenses
