The garage wood stacks needed to be topped off so the boys and I headed out to the stacks. I knew which stacks are seasoned but I grabbed the mm and maul and the boys split and tested each stack. I figured it's good training for them. We loaded up the truck and loaded up the garage.

I wanted to load more wood in the woodshed so we put the racks on and loaded the truck again.

I wanted the truck loaded down for the next time the garage needed wood and if we have bad weather my truck will have some traction. We finished up stacking Ash in the truck. Strapped in and ready to go if need be.

We put some uglies on the tailgate to take to the house then called it a day. I took the boys to a buffet in town for their hard work. Overall it was great guy time.

That will make some great memories! They may think it's "work" now, but someday many years from now they will re-classify that time!

My wife said she felt bad that she didn't come out and work with us. I explained to her it was guy time and she understood. She is very accepting of guys needing to do our thing.

Reminds me of how I got into cutting firewood at my uncles' place in NH. He has 25 acres of woods and he would load up me and a couple brothers, and his son and head into the woods for a day of felling and bucking, loading up old "Lulu" the mid-50's Jeep type pickup time and again for about 8 hours...learned much from him. Great family time!

    OhioStihl,
You got the "A" team there. They look like they are good boys. Remember, these times are times you'll cherish in the next 20 years. Keep up the doing the good dad stuff.

Nice work OhioStihl. Great experience for the boys. My three little ones have been helping dad and mom move wood for a while. They really like when we all do it together. Well, some more than others of course, LOL. But they help out in other ways that are great too. House work, chores, whatever you want to call them, is invaluable experience for them.
