New guy here. Been shopping around a bit for a wood splitter. Looked at a lot of nice ones online. Looking to spend $1000-1500ish. Any favorites or tried and true models out there? Just splitting with the x27 now and enjoy doing it by hand but would like to move a bit more wood quicker!

Good to here. I live very close to a TSC and have considered one of their models.

    Thanks for the welcome!

I have the Huskee 22 ton and am very happy with it. Split probably 25-30 cords through it so far. Plenty of power.

I will 3rd the Huskee, aka SpeeCo splitter. Depends where you buy them what stickers they've got. Welcome to FHC, how far across the border are you? We've got a bunch of guys in the Sioux City area.

I've heard great things about the harbor freight one. Dual action, $700 on sale. Kinda hard to beat that price.

Welcome getstumped. Glad to have another Cornhusker!
I ran a Huskee for a decade. At the time my wife special ordered it with a Honda motor.
Sold it for almost what she paid for it.
    Always functioned perfectly.:sherlock:

Splitting through a lot of elm here. Terrible by hand. The hackberry is pretty good though.

Elm is hell without hydro power. I burn a lot of american elm. Luckily most is good sized and not needing to be split.
