All the way up to 20* when I got home so started to split some of the oak I cut last week. I love the way oak POPS as you split it when it's frozen. Hope to replace the 4+ cords I sold and bartered this fall. Still have more than my three year plan but I just can't stand an empty pallet.
Nice setup there. It's one degrees or so here. A little snow squall came through and the wind blew hard, we had a complete whiteout. No CSS for me today.
You are more man than me. Thought about trying to get some splitting done but just a little to cold for me today, tomorrow perhaps.
Looks good gboutdoors ... nice tractor... Welcome to FHC polarbear ... I like the name... gudda lil polar bear blood in me too...
Sweet setup! Looks familiar, I have a Wheelhourse (red) garden tractor, and two around my Ariens 22 also. Love the Ariens, how do you like it?
gboutdoors , you still have snow on the ground in SE Mass? You must have had some recent squalls, we got a dusting the other night, thats it.
IS that's my Quahog shell driveway not snow. But we have had a ground covering of snow every day this week.
I was going to put a 12x12 sun room on the new house but we did not like the look so it became all deck instead. It would have been were the patio door is on the deck.
Love it also but had to pull the cord 6 times to start it today it was to cold. I had a 5 ton elec. the first two years that worked but boy it's fun to split with the Ariens.
Beautiful looking home you have gboutdoors . Great job on the rear deck and screenhouse below. Did you put in a seperate roof under the deck to take the rainwater away from the lower patio?
Thanks the deck has a Dry Space system under it I had sold a few and liked the way they worked out. I have been a GC for 30+ years and a lumber salesman but this was the first house I built for me and my loving wife of 40 years.
Looks like some oh-so-familiar dead standing dead oak. Burns nice. Even better next year. I thought it was kinda nice outside this afternoon. Finished a cold frame made of 2x3, recycled lathe and some recycled casement windows. Placed it over some Winter weary looking broccoli that I'm hoping make it to Spring.
