I play guitar and mandolin. Not great but sure do enjoy it. Enjoy jamming with someone who plays simply for the love of the music.

I have an account there but I'm having trouble getting things to work right. I can be heard but I can't always hear the other musicians. I wrote to Seth about it. He said there are a couple new patches they are adding in a couple weeks that should help.

I picked up a mandolin last summer with the intent of dabbling into the Bluegrass genre. unfortunately it's taken a backseat as I concentrate on learning the scales with the guitar.

Ditto. Never had a desire to make a living at it. Just something I love to do.

A little guitar pick'in here myself, took a break 4 years ago and still on one (all of us) About 20 years ago Stan and myself (the guy on the mandolin) started up Carroll County Grass along with Jim (standing bass) and Mike (banjo) Bob the dobro picker was sick and was not pictured with us. I too enjoyed the jams and hog roasts alot more than the paid gigs, mixing and mingling with people was much more enjoyable.

Woodchuck : I remember playing Penny Royal a couple times, great people and good time, Pick'in in the basement rooms with other groups before one would take the stage was the best ! The jams at Mickeys Mountain are the ones I miss the most, got to pick and sing with some well known ones there.
Good times and good people about every where we went…

OK. I just gotta ask. That looks like an F700 back there. Why is the front end jacked up off the ground?

Man I love old country AND bluegrass....

Big fan of Alison Krauss and Union Station, Ronda Vincent, Jerry Douglas, Mumford Bros, Dan Tyminski, on and on and on...

I'd LOVE to be able to pick a banjo and I REALLY LOVE the dobro and steel guitar.......

    Some quick faves....Jerry Douglas

And Dan Tyminski playing a bluegrass/Celtic mix in a 500 yr old pub in Scotland, I believe. What a phenominal sound!!

Sorry for the derail guys.......I love this stuff!! I really wish I could play!

This local band really got my ear tuned to Bluegrass. I know the banjo player. 6-7 years ago he let me sit in with them for 1 song. I was smitten.

Watermelon Park Festival in Berryville, VA has treated me well over the last 11 years. Saw Dan Tyminski tearing it up on this stage as well.

These two made it look effortless!
