Curious, what scope did you mount on that thing? It looks like a Simmons by the magnification adjustment knob. I'm a very bad boy, have a 7.5" same model on the way. I will need optics for it so I'm researching what holds up under the recoil. Any input is appreciated. JB
Congrats on purchase. Did you remind yourself how bad u wanted one with this thread? And is that the reason u just bought it!!
I like the "I dont sell guns I buy them". Me too. Maybe guns are like firewood all good just some better than others. ( also applies to to pizza , cigars and good whiskey but thats another thread for another day). Me I carry a glock gen 4, model 22 for my job ( you do the math ). On " my own time" really like my ruger lcp in my hip pocket in wallet holster.
I put my pistol box from when I bought my ruger mark3 22/45, on top of my safe. I bought it maybe 11 years ago. It makes me sad to see the price tag of $229 on and think what it would cost today . Also watched a video on youtube of the M1969 romanian trainer. The comments have them costing $260 today I paid like $50 11-12 years ago!!
Thanks, just have to keep it hidden from the wife for a while. I started thinking about this while I was hunting this past season(s). Most of the areas were dense enough to not allow more than a 150 yrd. shot. And getting off work and getting a few hours in before dark could be accomplished easier with a hand cannon vs. a cased rifle. Just need optics and a comfortable chest holster. Plus, always liked the .45LC. I'll shoot that 100:1 in the SRH Casull, makes a good defensive cartridge also. But when you need the "oomph", it can provide that in spades.
Each gun is like a new book. Wait................ I don't read much anymore. Each gun is like an.............AWESOME THING!!! Just have to make sure you have enough room in the safe or enough safes in house. I get a gun every year with points from Cabelas. Last year was a 458 limited production Winchester Model 70. One of 400 made for the 50th anniversary of Cabelas and is a special production run of the Model 70 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Winchester. Made to reflect the pre 64 production model 70 down to the box.
If you have their credit card and use it for other things it's not that bad. I did the same thing with Bass Pro points for years, every bill that I could get on a credit card (cell phone, cable/internet, car insurance, etc) I put on that card, paid it off each month, and could either get a gun or something else really nice at Bass Pro every year. I've since switched to Discover and Chase/Amazon cards though, they both offer better rewards.
Oh I was thinking g you had to buy in store, and Yea you get more points for that. I do the same and just take cash rewards each year. I have a usa card and do the same run everything on out and pay it off. Now that we have a cabelas I might start doing that as well!!
