Well yesterday it was 9 degrees outside and I managed to squeak out nine and a half hours before I had to reload

I'm standing here tonight in the 65 degree living room running a wood furnace and a stove on a 4 hr load rotation. The wind is just nuts and actual air temp is supposed to get down to -15 so I'll just have my phone on timer mode for the time being! My wife thinks I'm nuts but I don't mind, it's the price we pay for a little more independence. Hopefully it'll warm up enough in a week or so to work on adjusting the latch on the Answer in the meantime I'm going to try fluffing the gasket, if that's allowed in my county :) !

I'm with ya there Sam, I just took a draft measurement on my stack, came in at .22" of water. If the stove room stays at 85 degrees the temp difference will be 100 degrees

Nothing really new for Minnesota, friend just called from the lake he said we are gaining 2" of ice a day with these temps.

True story! With the lack of substantial snow cover I bet the frost is sinking pdq as well.

I almost forgot, I fluffed my door gasket at 2:30 this morning. Had to use a pliers and just gently squeeze it a bit at time but it sure made the seal tighten up. We'll see how it affects the overall air control but initial results are...I can't tell on the one load between then and 7:30. Time will tell.

Sounds good, if it helped by doing that sealing it up better, then the stove should be able to retain heat better because less cold air coming in.
Let us know how it goes after you run a few loads
