I have "The King" 2007b model and it was a mistake. See my review in the reviews section.

Welcome to the forum J Dub.
Most feel unfavorable about US Stove. It's not that we are biased, or dislike inexpensive stove brands. Many of us have been reading stove reviews on forums for years and have read many disappointing US Stove reviews and many favorable Englander (NC) reviews. It seams there are a lot of happy Drolet burners too.

Yep, Drolet is making me happy in ways USSC never could.

Best to stay away from most US stove models. They really should change their name to China stoves since that's where they come from.

I would offer a different perspective.....on their wood furnaces. I have had their Clayton 1600 wood furnace for 13 years and love it. It does a great job heating my 3000 sq foot home (see my post from today in the firewood forum for more info).

If I remember correctly the one model of US stove has no air control (i think grizz had that one) so thats where the bad reviews are coming from.

I'm pretty sure there is a town in China named USA. NOT "U.S.A.", it's pronounced "you-sa". That's where a lot of items sold here in the States are manufactured.....SMH....

Should say "Made in Yousa", not "Made in USA"......:emb:

J Dub , your in Illinois so check menards stores around you , check menards on line and they will ship to store free on alot of the stoves if you order online.
Dont order at the store as they dont always give you free ship to store.

Some of them may be EPA exempt. Mine is an EPA Phase II certified. I'm sure EPA exempt will become a thing of the past.

Yeah, EPA exempt is what the buyer needs to watch out for. That's the point.

The Austral is a little cheaper if they have them. Same stove but with legs.

That brings up another question, which is better legs or pedestal, mine would be sitting on a concrete floor, or is it just a different look
