Forecast for next 3 days with windchill figured in is highs of -11º to lows of -39º. Straight air temp on sunday is -12º/-16º. If you take a cup of boiling water and toss it in the air no liquid hits the ground. That trick is neat but it sucks that it is cold enough to do that. We're not expected to get below zero but more like 1 above for the low. 10 or teens daytime for a few days. We are blessed being surrounded by the Great Lakes. Just across the pond in WI they get much, much colder than we do here.
I have no idea how the wild animals survive this deep cold. I guess they have and lot of losses and the fit survive if the don't get eaten. I'm so greatful for my warm home and not being hungry.
Just today my wife was saying something like that. I simply told her that God designed them so they could handle this weather.
