Hey folks , I got some amazon gift cards for Christmas and am thinking of how to spend them. I'm considering this makita 4300. I believe it's the blue sister of the dolmar 421. Looking to keep it in my truck toolbox for cutting smoker wood and goofing off. Any opinions? ?
I got a Dolmar 421 on 9/2/2014. I've probably run 25-30 tanks of gas thru it. It hasn't skipped a beat, or made a hiccup. Runs like it should. It starts like it should cold or hot. I paid 314.00 at my local dealer. I have been thinking about replacing my MS 180 with a Dolmar PS 35. I think they make a great saw.
Well that's helpful. I know they're a little high for sure. I prolly should just buy a chain grinder , but a saw is so much more tempting.
Dolmar 421 is a greeeaat saw. But that blue paint must have gold flake in it to be so much more expensive
They are a good, sturdy saw... And relatively sexy in blue... Though a good grinder would be a damm good investment...

I understand that for sure! I have lots of bigger saws already. I just have 300 bucks amazon dough to spend. Just gotta decide what to do with it.
I think you'd have a lot more enjoyment from a great saw like this, compared to a grinder. I'm having fun with my PS 421. $325 from a dealer.
