Hey folks , I got some amazon gift cards for Christmas and am thinking of how to spend them. I'm considering this makita 4300. I believe it's the blue sister of the dolmar 421. Looking to keep it in my truck toolbox for cutting smoker wood and goofing off.

    Any opinions? ?

I got a Dolmar 421 on 9/2/2014. I've probably run 25-30 tanks of gas thru it. It hasn't skipped a beat, or made a hiccup. Runs like it should. It starts like it should cold or hot.
I paid 314.00 at my local dealer. I have been thinking about replacing my MS 180 with a Dolmar PS 35.
I think they make a great saw.

Well that's helpful. I know they're a little high for sure. I prolly should just buy a chain grinder , but a saw is so much more tempting.

Dolmar 421 is a greeeaat saw. But that blue paint must have gold flake in it to be so much more expensive ;)

They are a good, sturdy saw...
    And relatively sexy in blue...

Though a good grinder would be a damm good investment...

I understand that for sure! I have lots of bigger saws already. I just have 300 bucks amazon dough to spend.

Just gotta decide what to do with it.

I'm not so sure about any saw that weighs 123 pounds. 33 horsepower sure is tempting, though.

I think you'd have a lot more enjoyment from a great saw like this, compared to a grinder. I'm having fun with my PS 421. $325 from a dealer.
