Yes they are spreading out. In the last 3 years we have had about 8 families of Old Order move into a farming area here just a short ways away. They have bought up existing smaller farms. The first thing that happens is that they rip out all of the electrical. The local village even erected hitching posts for
    them in town.

One of them has opened up a business selling steel roofing and siding and all accessories. He runs the entire farm and business using Honda motors. Has all 8 kids working in the processing area. He's about 15-20% cheaper than the other suppliers and he cuts to custom size. Only caveat is that you have to pick up your order, he doesn't deliver. Local info is that if they can get 15 families established, they can get funding to build and operate their own school. We already have a very established Mennonite group in this area as well. Very interesting indeed.

Yes, take out electrical and water. If it's there already why not leave the water and just use a pump by hand or horse or motor. They could fill a large holding tank once a day and have running water in the house! :loco: :whistle:

But anyway I've never had a bad dealing with any of them. I wish I were as self sufficient as they are. But I would still want all the comforts of electricity and running water.

They are unique for sure. Their work ethic and beliefs are to be admired. It is like a huge step back in time.

No time for getting into trouble when you have to work so hard. I admire the community co-operation of a group like that. Big projects are always easier or at least get done quicker when you have a group to pitch in and help.

Some people think I'm Amish because I have a wood stove and a garden.

Been a good new years... after that waffle and bacon breakfast I spent the afternoon out at the airfield at our annual new years get together. They were cooking sausages and burgers and some of the crazies tried to shoot won planes with a potato gun (oh boy).

While I was out my wife baked hommade bread with her sister and we had a big pasta dinner. Beer time now ;)

Just finished watching Revelation:End of Days on History Channel. 2 parts, 4 hours and recorded earlier this week.

I wasnt expecting much but it was rather intense taking you from Rapture to Armageddon in present day, beginning in 2016.

They don't have McDonalds in Wyoming! You have to have more than 1000 people within 100 miles. Or something like that?

Well taking my time getting going this morning. A little FHC time and some caffeine. Time to get moving now though. I am going to cut some wood today for sure! I have been tied up doing umpteen different things while on vacation and only have had a little time to cut wood. I had hoped to spend four times as much time cutting wood. Oh well. It will be there when I get to it.

Here is the last project I did last night. One of my parents gifts they got for Christmas and it came a little late. I think they got it this past Monday. I put it together for them last night.
