Started the day off by putting some hay out for the cows. Then headed to the woods to do a little cutting:saw: and drag a couple old oak logs up to the splitter before the mud thawed too much. Then split til I ran out of gas for the splitter:picard:bet I'll remember the gas can next trip. Then home for lunch our traditional new years day menu: pork roast, sauerkraut, mashed taters, blackeyed peas and some home canned apple sauce. Now I'm ready for a nap, but gonna head back out while I have a day off from my real job.:)

Looking good. Interesting how oak can be so punky on the outside but nice and solid inside

Great pics driver. That's some of the most beautiful land in the country down there too. I either run Lexington or Roanoke everyday and the scenery below winchester is awesome. I have a hard time keeping my eyes on the road with all the oak and black locust lining 81:D:D

Sure is, I run Lexington-Buena Vista out of Roanoke most everyday, once you get off 81 and into the countryside it is really something to see.

Don't take your eyes off the road too long on 81 it can get crazy out there:rofl:

No doubt. It blows when the road is closed but the detours are beautiful - I used to work out of Central Pennsylvania but I80 made me move south when I got the chance. I'm a Con-way Freight driver out of Hagerstown. I'm sure you see the trucks all the time.

I see you guys all the time, I've been running city P&D for Pitt Ohio 28 years now, at one time I thought I might see retirement at 30 years service and then do what I did today anytime I want, but that ain't gonna happen. Stay safe out there.

What is it about sauerkraut on New Years. Stopped in today to check on an older neighbor and she had a fit I had not eaten any yet. Made me eat a bowl of pork and sauerkraut.

Right on...It's a Pennsylvania (PA dutch, I think) thing. Speaking of I81, I'll be heading north to PA this morning. With all the truck traffic on 81, I've always appreciated the profesionalism/safe driving of pros like yourselves & wonder what y'all think when every 3rd car driver is texting or otherwise driving like an idiot.

    Stay safe out there.
