You and wildwest should move. It's too cold out there. Come on over to Michigan or someplace at least a little warmer.
14 at 8am Loaded to the gills with "party mix" and coal. Cleaned the chimney this morning and was impressed with results. 1st clean on the new pipe. Dropped the brush chain down the pipe and then set the brush on the top like I usually do and woooooooossshhhhh,,,,, almost to the bottom. Thinking it stopped at the T. Half the coal dander I usually get on a 3 week run.
17 degrees outside 70 inside but that is because i just got the fire going again. Was 75 this morning. And about that all day with the temps out side in the teens.
I don't have many the size of that locust chunk, but that barkless stuff burns real nice on a heavy coal bed. It's like throwing a large chunk of coal on, it just sits there and cooks, and cooks, and cooks.
I'm happy about the upcoming snow. I fixed up the old simplicity snowblower, and I need to sell it. Hard to sell a snowblower with no snow.....
raybonz and thewoodlands , I just noticed both of you tagged me in this thread and I did not receive those notifications in my alerts. I usually do receive those. I wonder what might cause that. ? It is 20º this morning and I'm burning Ash and Pine. Things are comfy.
Don't know why you weren't notified? About the same temperature here with a low of 14 degrees last night. Happy new year!
raybonz Did you just receive notification when I tagged you? Must have. Tag me again in this thread if you would and I will see if I get it this time.
Gasifier , it looks like late Saturday night early Sunday morning could create problems, .34 inches of rain, 3.5 inches of snow with .72 inches of ice. It was about 16 degrees this morning, still burning Beech.
I'm at the tip of the dreaded mix..lol.. At least it's on the weekend so I'll be home instead of trying to navigate my way up and down I81. Have some ash rolling right now keeping things toasty.
14 degrees light winds not too bad compared to last 2 mornings.Supposed to hit 32 later today. Back to the Silver Maple/Green Ash/odd piece of scrap mix for the next 2 days. Good chance of light snow Saturday/Saturday night, with highs on Sunday back down to 5-10 degrees. Looks like I'll be back to the Shagbark with some White/Bur Oak added.
