On way home from work, a local eating establishment remodling was tossing their old booths out, The packrat I am, I said to myself what can I use these for, "THEN IT HIT ME" wood racks……. I asked the guy if they were trash and he said yea, but ya got to take them all! NO PROBLEM,,,, I have nothing against the back of the house, a little modification and I got nice fat wood rack for the back of the house They are all 1/8" square tube and angle iron, welded and "powder coated" we'll see how long it takes before they rust when the dogs start peeing on them.
The pic is not so good, but I already moved them into place. It came out to be 12' 6" long x 36" wide….. Get me some pressure treated 2x4s or 2x whatever scraps, " i'm sure I'll get some somewhere" and what a sweet rack!
Yea, the legs are 15 1/2" high, "YES" that will be so nice That rack should give me about two weeks worth of wood, I'll load it up on the weekends, man will that make life so much better
Very nice score...will you put some PT wood down in order to stack rows? How high will you be able to go?
The uprights are 20" but I don't want to go much higher than that because of the siding on the house, I'm happy with that I'll put some treated down for the base and ends, should be fine.
Very nice Dave! I like recycling too plus it saved a load of dough and made some easy firewood racks Ray
I did some work on it tonight, will have it finished up tommorow or Saturday morning, pic's to follow
Finished….. Called a buddy contractor, asked for scraps of pressure treated, "BETTER" yet, he let me pick through his TREX decking left overs from jobs…… put that with some Jersey boy redneck engineering, $8.00 in self drilling screws and you have……….
