    Here's my daughter laying some beads with an AC225. I would start the arc and let go so she could run it. 5 years old guys, no excuses.

    My dad taught me how to weld with a stick welder when I was 8yrs old.

    I really wish somebody taught me to weld at that age. I'm pretty spot on with a mig but I'm terrible with a stick welder.

    I wouldn't say she learned to weld that day so much as she learned that it was fun. The crackle and vibration of that rod as it burns, the intense brightness and heat, plus that wonderful smell.

    usually its the other way around, most tig machines will stick, but stick machines will not tig

    Actually you can tig DC, stainless steel/mild steel etc., with DC stick. Lift start/scratch start of course. To be able to tig weld AC you would need an AC machine with a high frequency box.

    well there you go, I do not know how to stick to save my life. but I can tig my azz off on all materials, have been doing it for over 30 years for a living, always used a dedicated tig machine. also do alot of mig as well ( steel and aluminum)
