I bandmill lumber and this is what I make out of my low grade logs/lumber and short logs. Top is blued white pine 2 bookmatched boards with natural edge. Wrapped in wormy white pine vee matched t/g. Corners are from the nastiest gnarliest grub holed tree centers I could find. Benches are from short bent forked logs (red oak) My product I call The Sawmill Shelf. You can tell where the slices come from. Eastern red cedar. The brackets are blued yellow pine with natural edge Black Cherry Z shaped, not worth much for lumber so I Through Sawed it and got 6 slices. I use Outdoor deck preservative Flood is the brand sold at WM its water based. Cat not included. White pine benches, bookmatched set The Disk Bird feeder. I bandsaw a cut to the center which allows it to shrink and open up the slot. All my low grade lumber and scraps go to a line of furniture If I mill a log with a nail it , I chisel a square around it so I can grab it with pliars. I use that board as the center board on Adirondacks. The left chair has one on it. My footstool design allows the stool to be stowed under the seat when not in use. The chairs with the most defects out sell chairs made from higher grade wood.
Pretty nice work, and welcome. I'll be looking forward to your projects. Put up what you have, lots of folks will appreciate it. I could see that z cherry plank made into a nice serving or coffee table. Very unusual shape to it.
