You guys have done a great job on this site, you deserve a little "help" along the way. The small donations most of us made don't even begin to pay for what we have learned here.

We have a great group of guys (and a few gals!) here, that is rare these days!

did I miss something? Never knew donations were being collected or I would of gladly donated to this great site and awesome group of admin/mods and members. There is just so much interesting info on here and a great knowledgeable group of people that have no problems sharing the info

 

We were working on short time frame and limited by number of people we could cram into PMs.

Many were left out..not on purpose but still were. I am sorry we could not get all involved that wanted too. It was more of a time thing and the fact that we were limited to 15 per PM making out very cumbersome .

 

Still surprised you were able to get as many as you did...

 

I've said it many times already, I'll say it again.....Thanks to one and all....Merry Christmas and you mods deserve everything we can do, you are a great group. I know some were missed, some gave this and some gave that, some just have too many other irons in the fire (medical, family issues, etc.). BUT one thing I am sure of everyone that frequents this place is filled with appreciation and gratitude for the extended family we all share together.

Campinspecter and I very much like to thank Scotty Overkill and the Mods for all you have done over this past year and a bit. This is a website that is fun to be on as well as making everyone feel like family.

We like to thank Jack Straw, wildwest and clemsonfor for all the work they did and for being so sneaky. It was hard work keeping it from the Mods.

 

I was also unaware of any fund raising efforts. Maybe we could have a thread for donations of funds and/or items for auction where proceeds go direct to the site?

 

Just to clear things up, I pm'd a random group of members because I wanted to get the Mods and Scotty a small gift for Christmas. Things snow balled and wildwest and clemsonfor took over the reins and ended up with a large amount of money. The only way we could include everyone would have been to start a thread and then it wouldn't have been a surprise. I apologize to anyone who feels left out. Hopefully, next year we can do it better.

I do want to thank everyone who did contribute.

This was not a thing to try and look good in the mods eyes or go be the "in" group. We never intended it that way.

It started with a few members and then just few and grew.

Unless individuals have spoken up specifically saying they gave the mods nor scotty know who actually donated. I did not forward those along. I forwarded the lump sum in the name of all members which was how it was intended. Many have expressed the desire to give in the past to support the costs associated with the site. Scotty being the stand up guy he is has refused any of our donated funds up till now. We figured a way for him to benefit from our donation s was to surprise him with a christmas gift, in the spirit of giving and the christmas season.

So in closing like Jack said. Thank you to those who did donAte , and to those who could not donate, and thank you to those who would have but were not given the chance to donate. That really shows the quality of members we have here that want to ensure this place stays around for good.

I've been thinking about this. We do gifts every year.....not much, but something. It's what we're supposed to do....right?
However, this thing right here has given me a renewed appreciation for a lot of things.
I haven't felt this good about the season in a LONG time.
It's all because we were able to do something that was not expected, and which came from the heart.
I joke around a lot on here, but this is no joke. There are so many good people here.
