I know that this is the saw that everyone loves to hate (=Husq 338XPT), but, I got mine for a decent price and it has been nothing but a joy to use and eats up anything that fits into it's 12" B&C. Today, I dropped and bucked small maple today 6-11" and only about 30 feet with the crown smashed by a widowmaker a couple of storms ago. Anyways, the little red saw chewed it up and spit it out without a single complaint. And, no, I do not climb with it or anything more powerful than my Silky.
I love my muffler modded 335. I had a 338 that was really nice too but I sold it because it was mint.
I have owned 2 338 and after running a 540. I prefer the 338 for handling. I sold my last 338 to buy a 540. Mistake. Now own a echo TH instead.
