My 10 year old son and I got some wood cut and a little clean up work as well over the last couple days. The forks, and this larger box I built just for moving rounds is working nice. Chain the box to the forks and once I load it I can just dump when I get to the pile! A couple loads from today.
Might need an attachment for the back hoe bucket, that's a load Don't hit the brakes Sweet. That about 1/2 a cord ?
When the box is loaded that much I take my time coming back. I have the hoe bucket hanging out off the back a bit and filled with two of the heaviest rounds I could fit in there. The little bit of snow on the ground is good for cutting and is not too slippery. Nice. I am going to cut some more tomorrow and Tuesday, I hope. The weather is suppose to get warm and rain on Wednesday and Christmas day. Oh well. Hopefully we will get some cooler weather soon after that.
Great setup Gas! I haven't been around here for awhile but seem to remember you having a Bobcat TLB - did you switch to the L35? I'd like to trade up from my L2650 to a newer and larger L series but it isn't in the budget quite yet
I sold the Bobcat and found another nice used machine in the Kubota. Bobcat did the heavy lifting and digging I needed done. Now went to a lighter machine with larger tires in rear and quick detach backhoe to do a lot of drainage and trail work I need to do on property.
No. I built a box earlier to go under the porch. I will use it to move splits from outside stacks to under porch. (Set it on the rolling platform I built, works good. Been moving splits from under porch to edge of concrete and then into cellar window.) So this box is bigger and used for rounds from woods to processing area.
