This scrub pine fell last week near the stacks while I was loading the trailer, it's been dead and leaned over in a snag for a couple years. It's downhill - what better time to use the snatch block and "yard" them up the hill. Pic #1 tree from stack area, Pic #2 a shot from the quad, Pic #3 logs up the hill and Samson inspecting. Pic #4 this tree had a "rough grow of it" that section from the base produced some nice fatwood...and obligatory saw posing pic. #5 all stacked out, and #6 some collateral damaged trees when it fell, white oak, maple, dogwood, and sourwood
Nice pics. That's a nice looking stack. Are those woods part of your property close to the house? Nice work today..what was your temp today
This section is part of my property that backs up the Talladega National forest, the boundary line is ~10' behind the stack and runs at a diagonal line down into that draw. It took it's sweet time warning up to 46F today started out around 28F this morning
So are we gonna see you on Ax Men soon? How far were the logs from that tree you had the snatch block in? You just use a long rope?
basod's wife put the kabash to the larger yarding when she found him and video taped his last haul home.
Nice stack, I can't go any higher than about 4' and it needs to be stacked as tight and straight as possible due to not having more than 5 square feet of level ground I dispise restacking
