Hope your alright that was a long night of damaging high winds. I'll move the thread later just want to be sure your all ok.
Wow the winds at our house were crazy, we have a lot of big trees and they were swaying back and forth bad. I was really worried about the dead sugar maple right next to the house.
It Pittsburgh we didn't have anything like a storm, but when our dog wanted to go outside in the middle of the night I was amazed how quickly the clouds were moving across the sky, back-lit by the full moon. It was beautiful to see. I guess we got the high winds, but only at altitudes well above ground-level.
Just found out a friend and my parents who live about 10 miles apart have been out of power since 7:30 last night. Another sad tree loss as well my parents Bradford Pear Tree got destroyed. It was a gift from my grandfather years ago.
I'm about 25 miles west of Swags and we hardly got anything...... only small limbs and some leaves blowing around
Here in my part of central PA we had wind, but nothing exceptional. All the trees in my yard that were standing yesterday are still standing today.
We got some pretty big winds most of the night starting about 10 last night. Just died down a few minutes ago, and it's snowing lightly. Fun stuff.
Central Indiana here. Lots of stuff down and Tornados all over. Still 20,000 without power. I left deer camp Sunday morning and headed for some cover. I have yet to see the damage there. That will wait until this weekend
Bradford Pear Trees are not very hardy. We lost everyone in my town when we had the ice storm a few years ago. It looked like a giant went around town and stepped on all of them. They were all flattened. Glad you all are well.
STEELERS! Nice win for us yesterday! Can't wait for NEXT year! I noticed the same thing here on LI late last night. The clouds were blasting by at what looked like about 100+ mph. WWe had high wides, but nothing over about 30mph I would guess. Kinda normall for me as I'm on the water.... Regarding the storms, I suspect those that were hit hard, are not on the internet (no power, no internet) to report it. .
Haven't been home in the daylight yet, but no obvious damage. I guess the heavier cells split my area and went north/south of us. A few downed trees here at work (bradfords).
Storm passed through. Thankfully it ended up only being a wet one. Sun is out, and the sky is blue with some white pillowy clouds. Stove is off for now.
Had some winds with some heavy rains last night, so far today just some strong wind gust. We got off easy compared to others.
Wow, I didn't even know what happened until the thread. We had high winds but were out of the danger zone. Did learn that we need to tighten down the sashes in the bedroom.
