That fella's done that once or twice. He makes it look awful easy. I know exactly how many times I wooda fallen off those branches, trying to get my azz behind me up there....... once...
Very cool to see that done. And at the same time. It is almost too bad in a way. Do you guys no what I mean by that? You see how beautiful these big trees are. It is almost to bad when you see them cut down sometimes. Sometimes I even look at some of the trees I cut down on my own property, and think it's to bad to cut it. Nice tree. Took a long time for that tree to grow. You know what I mean?
I fully understand what you mean Gasman.. A certain sadness that this tree took so long to grow so large and so majestic only to be cut down..
I like felling trees/cutting firewood. But I am going to take a close look at the trees that I want to cut and that I want to leave. Unfortunately most of the Ash will probably be killed by E.A.B. on my property sooner or later. But I did have a bug expert tell me to not go cutting all my Ash just yet. You never know. Don't mean to derail the thread rottiman. I hope to do a lot of clean up work like our friend thewoodlands does first. Take the fallen first. Clean up and use all I can. (GIBIR) Then I will look at the less than desirable and smaller ones too close to the nicer ones. Etc. But I have to take a good many of the Ash for two reasons. 1. Because of the potential bug situation. 2. Because they are the highest BTU trees I have on the acreage! Dat's important!
